Thermal Insulation Effect of a Building with Green Roof on the Operation-Related Expenses
Jílek, Jan ; Hlavinková, Vítězslava (referee) ; Čech, Josef (advisor)
Diploma thesis entitled Influence of green roof insulation on the costs associated with one operation with an assessment of the design of alternative solutions for external contact thermal insulation system and their effects on the assessment of energy performance of the building and the associated costs of construction and operation. Alternatives for the design of a flat roof with a vegetation layer are also chosen in the construction solution of the building. The first part of the diploma thesis deals with the general requirements for the design and assessment of energy performance of buildings. The second part describes the individual options of the selected contact thermal insulation system and variants of flat roofs with a vegetation layer. In the next part, the budget for individual variants of thermal insulation is solved and the price of all variants is determined. The last part demonstrates the assessment of all variants and the overall economic evaluation with the selection of the best variants. For all variants, the time for which the investment will return is evaluated.
Theory of inventive problem solving
Lněnička, Luboš ; Veselka, František (referee) ; Bušov, Bohuslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with methodology for creating innovative concepts and their solving. More precisely, TIPS methodology „Theory of inventive problem solving“. This thesis is divided into four parts. In the first part, this methodology and its five basic tools are introduced. The second part provides introduction of software Goldfire Inovator including the tools which could be useful for students working on their projects. Third part demonstrates TIPS methodology on the innovation of wind power plant supported by software Goldfire Inovator. The fourth part evaluates advantages and contributions of TIPS methodology for education and practice.

Electrochemical etching of graphite tips for potential use in nanoscience
Jonáš, Adam
The main goal is to find an easy, and more importantly, cheap process of producing sharp tips for the potential use in an atomic force microscope (AFM) or as a source of electrons utilizing cold field emission. This objective is being achieved by the method named electrochemical etching, and the used material is cheap and easily accessible. For this experiment, graphite leads of different hardnesses were used, etched with two types of etching solutions. The first solution contained potassium hydroxide (KOH) dissolved in water and the second contained sodium hydroxide (NaOH), also dissolved in water. Different ratios of chemicals were tried for the manufacturing process. Hardnesses of leads were 2B, B, and HB. After the process of etching, products were examined with a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The radius of tips was measured, and results were compared and evaluated. Stating on the output data of tips, it can be said, that goal was achieved, and tips can be used for their potential purpose. There would be needed another research about how well they fit to work.

Support - intervention radiology diagnostic methods at liver´s investigation
MÁDR, Robert
The special field of radiology, interventional radiology, is a logical result of the current technological development in medicine. The purpose of interventional radiology is to include the knowledge of clinical, especially surgical, procedures, and a considerable development of imaging methods for treatment some diseases and conditions with minimum damage of the exterior integtiry og human body. This is made possible only by using the current imaging methods based not only on the X-ray radiation but also on ultrasound and magnetic resonace imaging to guiding surgical instruments in body cavities and organs. Intervention radiological methods achieved considerable technological progress expressed mainly in quality and sensitivity of medical examinations which increases the possibilities to make the correct diagnosis and achieve succesful treatment. My thesis deals with liver, gallblader and gall ways diseases and the radiological imaging of these parts of the body. Together with the development of various hepatobiliary system diseases upgrade examination techniques are being developed. The examination techniques include classical radiological methods, endoscopic methods, CT and magnetic resonace imaging and also the intervention diagnostics and hepatobiliary surgical treatment. In the practical section of my thesis I describe the anatomy, pathology, examination indications and examination methods themselves. I also refer to the special instrumenarium {--} a collection of instruments and other equipment for an operation or for a medical procedure. The objective of my thesis was to give a complete survey of interventional radiological methods used by a radiologist in liver examinations.
Chosen problems of consumer protection
ŠTEFLÍČKOVÁ, Veronika
The main objective of diploma work was to determine consumers' awareness of their rights in the field of catering services in the Central Region in the Czech Republic. Another task was to detect the critical areas which have the greatest difficulty to respondents. As part of the questionnaire survey, which took place in November 2008 in the Central Region were asked 97 respondents.
Vascular disorders of gastrointestinal tract - Diagnostics and endovascular therapy
MOKRÁ, Michaela
An important group of diseases affecting gastrointestinal tract is derived from impaired function of the blood vessels. These disorders involve bleeding (arterial and venous), aneurysms and intestinal ischaemia. Interventional approaches to treat gastrointestinal haemorrhage differ in arterial and venous bleedings. In treatment of arterial bleeding, embolization techniques are utilized for selective occlusion of a damaged artery. In case of venous varices, transjugular intrahepatic portosystem shunt (TIPS) must be introduced. Chronic mesenteric ischaemia is relieved by angioplasty with a stent placement. Endovascular extraction in acute intestinal ischaemia is performed with aspiration thrombectomy of the blood clot at the site of peripheral vascular occlusion. In our department, we treated 99 patients with disorders of gastrointestinal blood vessels in the course of two years. In 27 patients, we searched for the cause of arterial bleeding (in 33.3%, the bleeding was not confirmed). We performed 24 embolizations. In 55 patients, TIPS was placed; of these, additional embolization of portosystemic collateral was performed in 44 patients. Two patients suffering with mesenteric ischaemia were treated with PTA and stent placement. Seven patients with intestinal ischaemia were treated with the use of aspiration thrombectomy with a promising result - a complete recanalization was reached in 4 cases. Nowadays, endovascular therapy is a method of choice in therapy of vascular disorders of the gastrointestinal tract. In correct indications, endovascular therapy represents a save and effective method that shows a relatively good technical and clinical efficacy.
